If You Give A Little Love, You Can Get A Little Love Of Your Own

If you give a little love, you can get a little love of your own. This is an amazing statement. And I love it. You know why? Because it’s true. It’s been quite a while since I first watched this music video and was quite moved by it. Because the video clearly shows how our actions change the way people around us acts.

I was living in Cologne, Germany and I saw people abiding by the traffic rules very strictly. Especially, even if there were no cars passing by, pedestrians were not crossing before it was green for them, when waiting at the traffic lights. In the evenings, there are usually less cars on the roads but still. Once, I talked to a German friend of mine and the answer was impressive. The adults were not crossing the road in the evening when it was red for them and when there were no children around. The last part of the statement was interesting. ”When there were no children around”. The main reason for that was not to be a bad role model for the children. That was a very new type of looking at things in life for me. Not to be bad examples for children. Simple because they tend to do what they see us do, not what we tell them to do. It doesn’t really work that way.
It’s same with helping others. When we start helping others we become happier persons because of the personal satisfaction the giving gives us. It helps us be better persons and better examples for the people arounds us, not just the children though. People also tend to do good things when they see others do. For example if there is no trash on the road and people keep their trash in their hands until they find a bin, then they feel bad throwing their trash to the road.
We cannot complain others and do the exact same ourselves. We lose our pursuasiveness.
